Course Description
This hands-on qualification provides students with the skills and knowledge to work as a professional carpenter in the construction industry. The program offers a balance of practical training and theoretical knowledge, equipping students to perform a wide range of carpentry tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial construction settings. Students will develop proficiency in:
- Constructing and maintaining structures, frameworks, and fittings.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling various building materials.
- Safely using hand and power tools. Adhering to workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations.
Entry Requirements
International students must:
- Be 18 years or older and have successfully completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- Have an IELTS academic score of 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5) or
- PTE Academic minimum 46 overall score.
- Provide proof of proficiency through:
- Successful completion of at least six months of a Certificate IV or higher in an Australian education institution.
- Completing a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements. Students are advised to check with the relevant regulatory authority.
